Why do some people struggle with addiction more than others?

It is truly like flipping a coin; opiate addiction can take over your life in an instant ...  or never be an issue. There is no easy, simple answer to why. The best answer I have to why I struggled for 20 years is ...  Opiates work and work very, very well.

The key to getting out from under an addiction to opiates is asking for help when you are ready to make a change.  Trying to force anyone to give up any addiction when they are NOT ready or they are unwilling is pointless.

NEVER PUSH ANYONE DOWN A PATH THEY ARE UNWILLING TO TAKE!

Most people with the strongest and longest opiate addictions are completely and fully functional.  They show NO obvious signs of trouble or struggle; to all outside observers, there is absolutely nothing wrong.

There are many paths that can be taken when you are ready: fast or slow, minimal or complete, isolated or coached.  The first step is ALWAYS to speak with your doctor or a medical professional.

Unfortunately, none of the paths via medical professionals are confidential or anonymous.  If opiates are used while on the job, potentially risking lives, please consider that hiding an addiction may have enormous consequences that could lead to legal trouble, imprisonment, physical injuries, or even death.

If you want help but you must stay anonymous, I specialize in discreetly counselling people with an opiate addiction to quickly turn your life around and help you find happiness and joy you once found easily before the opiates dulled and deadened everything!
